Vegan Styled Hash Browns in Air Fryer

This hash brown recipe is almost oil free, you can use just a little brush of oil for this air fryer recipe. Learn how to make easy breakfast hash browns and delight your kids.

Time to cook: 30 minutes

Ingredients: 

  • 4 Large potatoes peeled and finely grated
  • 2 tbsp Corn flour
  • 2 tbsp Chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 + 1 tsp Vegetable oil
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper powder – to taste

Instructions:

  1. Soak the shredded potatoes in cold water. Drain the water. Repeat the step to drain excess starch from potatoes.
  2. In a non-stick pan heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil and saute shredded potatoes till cooked slightly for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Cool it down and transfer the potatoes to a plate.
  4. Add corn flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and chilli flakes. Mix together roughly.
  5. Spread over the plate and pat it firmly with your fingers.
  6. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  7. Preheat air fryer at 180C
  8. Take out the refrigerated potato and divide into equal pieces with a knife.
  9. Brush the wire basket of the air fryer with little oil.
  10. Place the hash brown pieces in the basket and fry for 15 minutes at 180C.
  11. Take out the basket and flip the hash browns at 6 minutes so that they are air fried uniformly. 
  12. Serve it hot along with ketchup.
